It is a disaster to notice that your oven refuses to work and alerts the owner with F30 Error code. In fact, modern appliances have such a good function to run a diagnostic automatically and alarm about malfunctioning. F30 Error code refers to a problem with the oven temperature sensor probe. Here is what you can do to eliminate the issue on your own:
1. Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.
2. Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.
You should contact the manufacturer to order the correct replacement Kenmore oven sensor probe. This probe may be specific to the model of Kenmore stove that you have. Check your owner's manual for additional details. The sensor probe is attached to the stove by way of two screws and a mounting plate. By removing the screws, you can remove the probe. To disconnect the probe, remove the plug-in and pull out the entire piece. Place the new probe in the correct place on the stove and plug it in. Then, reattach the screws and mounting plate so the sensor probe is back in place. Replace the panel on the back of the stove. Now you should be able to connect the stove to power and turn it back on at the breaker, if applicable. Sure, there is no necessity for DIY.
