Such breakdown as a failure of the control board might happen to your LG dishwasher all of the sudden. Unfortunately, they won’t disappear as easily as they have managed to appear. When no lights on the main control board work the owners suspect power issues, in fact, that might be a trouble with the main control board itself. This part is often misdiagnosed and requires electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter to determine if it is defective. To replace the main control board your first step is to open the dishwasher door and remove the screws securing the outer door panel. With the screws removed, pull the outer door panel off. Next, remove the screws to release the control panel. Disconnect the display board wire harnesses the light display wire harness and the power switch connector. Note the orientation of the control board wires then disconnect them. Release the wires from the retainers. Now remove the screws securing the control board to the panel. Depress the tabs and pull the old control board out. Install the new control board by aligning it on the panel and snapping it into place. Secure it with the screws. Connect the control board wires. Secure the wires with the retainers. Connect the power switch connector to the light display wire harness and the display board wire harnesses. Reposition the control panel and secure it with the screws. Reinstall the outer door panel by aligning the slots in the panel with the tabs on the bottom of the control panel. Secure the screws.
