Follow this short guide in case your Viking oven burner is clicking while lit. No panic as this clicking noise doesn’t necessarily mean anything is broken. It could simply be that food spillage has built up in the corners and spaces of your range, which is bound to happen – cooking can be a messy business. The solution is to gently and carefully clean the stove. Unplug the unit. Remove the burner cap. Clean around the igniter, burner, and under the knobs with a small brush. Remove any remaining debris with a Q-tip and alcohol. Replace the burner cap, and plug the unit back in. Try out the burner again. If the steps above remained useless, some parts might be malfunctioning. Another reason your stove keeps clicking after the burner is turned off is due to moisture. You forget about the water boiling, and the pot boils over. You had a clumsy moment and spilled the sauce. It’s happened to all of us. The excess moisture from such a spill can affect the area where the igniter is and cause it to click. In addition, moisture can make its way to the igniter if you’ve recently cleaned your cooktop. If you notice your Viking range clicking when turned off, you may have used too much cleaner or water. Finally, check the spark module. The spark module provides power to each surface burner spark electrode. If the burner produces a weak spark, or if the burner sparks intermittently, the spark module might be defective. Before replacing the spark module, first check the spark electrode and the spark wire. If the spark electrode and spark wire are not at fault, the spark module is likely defective. If the spark module is defective, replace it.
