It goes without saying your Miele range must be working properly every day. Unfortunately, like any other appliance your unit might lose its efficiency, get overused and break down. Don’t panic, we have a proven solution for most issues. Over time, as food particles and splattered sauces make their way into the burner housing, burners become clogged and lose their effectiveness. Luckily, regular cleaning will prevent the issue of a range burner not igniting. Before performing any type of cleaning or service to your range, read your owner’s manual for recommendations and instructions. Unplugged the power. Then take a small wire telcom pic tool to scrape the white and brown deposits from the sides of the igniters. You could probably use something else similar to do the scraping. Go ahead and scrape and brush and clean the mating surface where the spark travels. Then vacuum up the mess. Hope this will help the burners return to normal functioning. If not, the igniter is faulty. If power is secure and burners are clean, chances are this is also true when Miele range burners won’t light. If you’re trying to figure out how to fix a gas stove burner that won’t light and suspect a faulty igniter, turn the lights off and see if the igniter sparks blue or yellow. If you see a yellow-orange color, the igniter is weak and needs to be replaced. We highly recommend inviting a professional electrician to check your Miele cooktop and eliminate risks of additional issues. Remember to clean your appliance regularly and maintain it properly.
