As a rule, malfunctions of dryers occur due to violation of the requirements of the operating instructions. Factory defects are extremely rare. Nevertheless, even the most reliable equipment of well-known brands needs repair over time. One of the most common breakdowns is a situation when the dryer does not heat the air, that is, air enters the drum, but it remains cold. The easiest way to detect such a malfunction is caused by feeling the door. It is usually hot when you touch it. Mostly, dryers have a special system that locks the door and prevents it from opening until the laundry has cooled down a little. If you are not satisfied with your Samsung dryer functioning, it is required to have a maintenance visit. If your Samsung dryer is not heating up, there is a strong possibility of a burnt heating element. The element is made of a coiled wire. When you turn the dryer on, the coil receives an electrical charge. This causes the coil to heat up. Over time, the constant heating and cooling cycles weaken the wire in the coil. Eventually the coil breaks and the dryer no longer heats up. Depending on the model of dryer, the heating element is located either behind the dryer drum inside the dryer cabinet, or behind a panel on the back of the dryer. No one manufacturer makes all their dryers the same. Replace a burnt heating element:
1. Unplug the dryer.
2. Take off the dryer exhaust hose and remove the back panel.
3. Look at the back of the dryer. On the right side, you'll see a long metal housing. The Element is inside.
4. Unscrew the black sensor on top, and unscrew the black sensor on the bottom.
5. Unhook the two wires just below the bottom sensor.
6. Gently lift up on the whole gray casing.
7. Turn it upside down; you'll see one screw holding the element in.
8. Install the new element in the reverse of the above.
Have an appliance repair person check out the heating element and replace it if needed.
