The LG refrigerator is one of the few household appliances owners expect to use for at least a decade, or even more. In fact, any refrigerator works most efficiently under the condition it is correctly installed, leved; the food in it is placed according to basic norms, and the owner regularly carries out preventive measures for defrosting (if required) and cleaning. If you decide to be a little lazy and neglect these simple tips, then the result is usually the same - the refrigerator will begin to "protest". An ice buildup may form in the freezer and even in the refrigerator, and an unpleasant odor may appear in the refrigerator, which is not so easy to get rid of. The refrigerator will work louder and noisier, and the power consumption will increase. If your LG refrigerator refuses to work and makes a loud noise, it is time to run a diagnostic. Before calling a professional service assistant, you can try out several steps. If your unit was recently installed, it may take up to 24 hours for each compartment to reach the desired temperature and for the ice maker to begin making ice. Wait 24 hours for ice production. The freezer must maintain an internal temperature below 19°F. The minimum recommended temperature on the unit’s control panel for ice production is -4°F (-20°C). If the freezer temperature is set at a warmer temperature, then ice will be produced at a slower rate. Ensure that your set temperature is under -4°F (-20°C). Inspect water supply. Ensure that the water line is connected. Sometimes when the unit is pushed back into its place, recently moved or installed, the water line gets disconnected, kinked or pinched. Try to dispense a glass of water from the dispenser. If water dispenses normally, then there are no issues with the water supply. Turn ON and RESET the ice maker. In order for the ice maker to make ice, the ice maker must first be turned ON. If the ice maker is ON but the appliance is not producing ice, try to reset the ice maker. If the instructions above give no positive effect and your LG refrigerator refuses to work properly, make a maintenance appointment.
