LG refrigerator stops freezing for various reasons. This can happen as a result of improper operation, however, there can be serious damage to the internal components of the refrigerator. For example, failure of a motor-compressor, thermostat, blockage in the capillary system or drainage, freon leakage, etc. The exact cause of the breakdown can only be found out as a result of diagnostics. More often it happens that the refrigerator compartment does not freeze in the LG refrigerator. But if the malfunction is not corrected, the freezer will soon fail. In a refrigerant circuit with one compressor, it is primarily the refrigerant that maintains a deep minus in the lower chamber. Freon enters the plus zone according to the residual principle. However, it is in the cold zone that the thermostat or compressor switch-on sensors are located. If there is not enough cold at the top, the compressor runs non-stop and will soon break down. And this is the direct reason why the LG refrigerator will stop freezing. When it comes to refrigerators, many have a single evaporator fan, which is located on the back of the freezer section. This fan cools your freezer and refrigerator sections by circulating the air across the cooling coils and into these areas. If it’s not moving enough cool air, the fridge will not keep the freezer or fridge sections cool. Do the following steps to check the evaporator fan motor:
- Turn off the appliance and locate the evaporator fan motor in the freezer compartment.
- If the fan is overly noisy, this is a sign that it should be replaced.
- If it isn’t noisy, turn the fan blade manually. If the blade is stuck, replace the evaporator fan motor.
- Check the fan motor for continuity. If it fails then we have to replace the motor.
If the fan at first worked very noisy, then it stopped, you need to stop the refrigerator, defrost it and call the refrigerator repair expert. There are many reasons for malfunctions, from a blown fuse to a fan replacement. The LG refrigerator can badly freeze if the evaporator does not create the desired temperature, the circuit is faulty.
