If you have a Miele dishwasher at home, it doesn’t take you too much effort to clean after preparation of a meal. In fact, things change when your Miele dishwasher doesn’t turn on. Make sure a "Start/Stop" light flashes when you run the dishwasher. If not, plug the unit, close the washer door and press "Start/Stop" again. If the dishwasher still won't turn on, check the household circuit breaker or fuses. If the fuses are blown out, replace them. Reset the circuit breaker if tripped by turning the circuit breaker switch to the "on" position. If the dishwasher starts, but stops, check the fuses. If your dishwasher won't start at all, open the housing and examine the door switch (four wires connected via a plastic component). Change out the switch if it's corroded or blown. Before opening the housing and examining wires, disconnect power to the dishwasher as a safety precaution. Then tip it backwards by around 45 degrees so excess water drains off completely. After this is done, check the drain hose where it connects to house drain and make sure it is not clogged. Then clean the mesh filter from inside and check if it is not blocked. Reconnect everything and plug it back. If the dishwasher doesn turn on after all the manipulations above, the control board is probably dead. Let us know how it goes and we’ll give you further recommendations. Some problems are possible to fix only with the right tools and skills, so to keep the warranty valid and unit functional, it is at your best interest to contact a professional plumber.
