Your cakes and pies won’t taste right if the oven isn’t hot enough. Not only Miele brand ovens face heating issues, the scenario may happen to almost all other brands. The solution is common to all of them. Start with checking your Miele oven incoming power source. There are many things that cause power issues. A common problem is a recent power outage or an overloaded circuit. If you find your Miele oven not reaching temperature, the voltage may be low. An oven needs a dedicated circuit and should not be plugged into an extension cord. Otherwise, the power supply will be low. Consequently, you’ll find your Miele oven not heating enough. You can also check the outlet voltage by using a multimeter. Sufficient voltage for an electric Miele oven is 240 volts and a gas range oven needs 120 volts. Another cause of the low temperature concerns a defective temperature sensor. If the temperature sensor inside the oven is not working as intended, it can cause the oven to not heat to the correct temperature. This can be caused by a faulty temperature sensor or a temperature sensor that is touching the wall of the oven. Make sure the temperature sensor is not touching the inside wall, as this will affect its ability to accurately measure the internal temperature of the oven. If it is, reposition it so that it's not making contact with the wall. If it's still not heating correctly, you can use an ohmmeter to test that the sensor is working. The resistance of the sensor should rise with internal temperature of the oven. Like with a heating element or gas igniter, replacing the temperature sensor is a quick and easy fix you can do yourself.
