It isn’t a rare case to experience an issue with defrost. We can strongly recommend solving the trouble ASAP. Problems with the self-defrost system can impede air circulation. Frost may build on the evaporator coils on the back. Once this happens, air can't circulate through the coils properly. Thus, the unit will not remain cold because of a lack of cold air. To check whether there's a problem with the evaporator coils, remove perishable items from your refrigerator and freezer and unplug the unit. Open the doors and wait about 48 hours. This will allow the refrigerator to defrost. Most air circulation problems require assistance from your service technician to resolve. The owner will obtain a recommendation to replace the defrost thermostat, check and fix ice build up on evaporator, clean condenser coil and conduct a diagnostic every six months.
