The burner might not ignite due to several factors. Look at the most common cases and steps which can help to resolve the issue. When one of the burners doesn’t ignite, confirm the burner head and cap are clean and positioned correctly. Make sure the orifice is not blocked by food or debris. If it is, use a pin or needle to clean it. Do not allow water or moisture of any kind to get in the orifice. In addition, make sure not to turn the knob too quickly. Leave the knob on Lite until the burner ignites. If the burner still will not ignite, replace the burner head and cap. If the issue continues with a new burner head and cap, request a service appointment. Sometimes, a burner ignites after time passes. Confirm the burner head and cap are clean and positioned correctly. If the burner still delays before it ignites, replace the burner head and cap. Clean the pilot hole where the gas comes out when the burners are switched on. Insert a needle into the hole. Gently and carefully sweep the needle around the hole to remove any buildup and gunk that is keeping the gas from coming out. Check the igniter for sparks. Turn the gas off and hit the ignition button on your stove. This is generally accompanied by a clicking noise as the electric igniter sparks to light the gas. Visually inspect to see if any sparks are occurring. If not, your igniter will need to be replaced. Inspect the electrical connections to the igniter and ensure that they are connected properly and securely. If they are loose, screw them back tight with a screwdriver to ensure proper electric charge to the ignition switch.
