It feels like your refrigerator is malfunctioning if you notice ice buildup at the back of the unit. Here is what you can do with your Sub-Zero Refrigerator model 532 to eliminate the ice buildup and return proper efficiency. First-of-all we recommend defrosting the freezer as in the manual.
1 Remove food and place it in another unit if possible.
2 Place towels on the floor of the freezer or refrigerator, or on the kitchen floor in front of the unit to catch water created during the defrost process.
3 Leave the door open during defrost. The entire defrost process could take several hours, depending on the original circumstances requiring the process.
In case when all the steps above give no positive result, you will have to contact a professional assistant to run a diagnostic. There is a very good chance it was not enough refrigerant in the sealed system or/and restriction in the capillary tube. When the evaporator has a crack in it freon leaks out.
