The owners of the Thermador oven might fail to track the moment when one or several burners stop working.Nevertheless, it is dangerous to use a malfunctioning appliance. There are several steps the owner can do before calling a Pro. Check your circuit breakers to make sure that the breaker for the range hasn’t tripped and there are no blown fuses. Move the stove away from the wall to ensure it’s still plugged in properly. Refrain from using an extension cord to operate your range. A typical extension cord won’t safely accommodate the power needed for a stove. Clean the burners if you haven’t done it yet. Remove burner caps by lifting straight upward. Dip a soft cloth in warm, soapy water and gently scrub burner caps. Use a non-abrasive cleaner for stubborn stains. Rinse burner caps under running water. Allow to air dry completely. While caps are drying, dampen a cotton swab with warm water and gently wipe the igniter and burner ports. Use a toothpick to carefully scrape away caked-on particles. Allow igniter and ports to air dry completely. Unless cleaning helps, some parts might be working improperly. A malfunctioning igniter may have too weak a spark to light the gas or no spark at all. You may hear the igniter clicking but the burner won’t ignite. A faulty range igniter cannot be repaired and requires replacement. Contact our customer support and arrange a maintenance visit to check the igniter and other parts for a failure.
