Models of gas and electric ovens are being improved every year. Modern ovens are equipped not only with advanced capabilities and simply incredible functions, but also with the ability to control the cooking process, change the temperature with just one touch. It is not surprising that recently, more and more buyers want to replace their oven with a new one. Modern oven manufacturers have gone to great lengths to keep users as safe as possible. But in any model, the issue of the safety of the structure as a whole and the availability of protection from children are always relevant. The new generation of ovens are usually equipped with additional safety features. The blocking is provided in order to prevent all kinds of accidents due to negligence. Despite the fact that the hostess rarely leaves the oven unattended, the unit works automatically. There are several ways to unlock the oven. If the oven door is locked either when starting the oven or when using it, there are some things you can do.
When the door is locked when starting or using the oven:
- Press Cancel/Off key to start a latch reset, wait 20-30 seconds and open door
- Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute, then turn the power back on.
- Allow the oven to cool, approximately 30-90 minutes, move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.
When the door is locked during Self-Clean cycle:
- If power was interrupted during a Self-Clean cycle, and the cycle did not resume, select the "Self Clean" option, then select "Cancel". Wait a couple of minutes then try to start the cycle again.
- If the oven clean cycle was started by mistake: Press Cancel/Off key. The oven will need to cool to approximately 200F(95C) before the oven door will open.
- Allow the oven to cool, approximately 30-90 minutes, move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.
Reset power to the product. Power unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or fuse(s) for one (1) minute. Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or fuse(s). Check the oven to see if the oven has unlocked.
