Whirlpool dryer owners usually call for professional maintenance help when an appliance gets old and overused. First sign of worsening the situation is noise. Then, the dryer refuses to turn on. And, finally, it breaks down without possibility to bring it to life. The first place to start when a dryer won't turn and makes noise is to check for foreign objects that may be blocking the drum from turning. Turn off and unplug the dryer, and then use a flashlight to inspect the dryer closely. Look at the edges between the drum and the dryer housing, as objects such as coins may fall out of pockets and get lodged between the drum and the housing. This can keep the dryer from turning. If you can see the object, remove it if possible. A pair of needle-nose pliers may be useful for this purpose. If you do not see any foreign objects, there are other alternatives to consider. A damaged drive belt can be the cause if your Whirlpool dryer won’t spin. Try to manually spin the drum from inside the dryer. If the drum spins easily, your Whirlpool dryer belt is broken. Normal wear and tear can damage the drive belt over time. If it’s loose, frayed, or otherwise damaged, you’ll need to replace the part. Most dryers have two drum rollers on the rear of the drum, and some dryers have two more rollers supporting the front of the drum. The rollers must spin freely to work properly. If the drum rollers are worn out, the dryer won’t turn properly. To determine if the support rollers are worn out, remove the belt from the dryer and try turning the drum by hand. If the drum does not rotate freely, check the support rollers for wear. If one or more of the rollers are worn out, we recommend replacing all of the rollers at the same time as a preventative measure. Think over arranging a professional coming. We will provide maintenance, cleaning, part replacement and roller lubrication of your Whirlpool dryer.
